Watch for these signs: No priming buzz on ignition — Turn the key and listen for ~2 seconds of pump pre-pressurisation. No buzz is the clearest sign of pump motor failure. Difficulty starting cold in the morning — An ageing pump builds pressure slowly, needing multiple cranks before the 249cc single fires up on a cold day.
