The BS6 FI system is sensitive to fuel pressure variation. Watch for these signs: No priming buzz on ignition — Turn the key and listen for ~2 seconds of pump pre-pressurisation. No buzz means pump motor failure — the most common and clearest sign. Hard cold starts — An ageing pump builds pressure slowly after overnight parking, requiring multiple cranks before the engine fires on cold mornings.
